When we first launched Hairsense.com over a decade ago, just having an
online retail store was 'cool'. But when we started reviewing other
websites and comparing how our site looked and functioned on contemporary
browsers and tablet computers like the new Apple iPad 2, we recognized it
was time for more than just a touch-up."

After speaking with several professional web design firms in her South
Florida headquarters area, Conner chose Miami web designer Bruce Arnold of

web marketing presence. "Most of the web designers I met with tried to sell

The re-styled and re-engineered Hairsense.com has a custom hand coded PHP
scripted HTML5/CSS3 website template that integrates a virtual product
database and PayPal shopping cart. It features a fixed-position header for
standard browsers, and a search-friendly Javascript-free CSS-only horizontal
navigation panel. The design leverages brightly colored PNG gradients for
backgrounds and overlays, and custom jQuery programming for page load, page
unload and image animations. Every product image sports a thumbnail hover
which when clicked triggers a full-screen lightbox display. The home page
is designed to give maximum visibility into the products contained in each
section of the two primary categories, Bone Combs and Hair Brushes. With
each page request, a different product is selected at random to represent
that category. And beneath each home page product display is a link to the
associated category section. Every web page at Hairsense.com passes all seven tests of "Web 3.0
Readiness". These include not only basic tests of W3C compliance as to
content and format but also behavior, accessibility, semantics, syndication
and links. Every page has also been verified accessible using not only the
latest versions of all five major web browsers (Firefox, Explorer, Chrome,
Opera and Safari) but also by Flash-free user agents like the new Apple iPad
2 tablet computer.
